Phil Bromleyresized

Phil ‘Brommers’ Bromley (Trainer) has many years’ experience as a trainer, both in IT and the community radio sector. His involvement with community radio stations includes sponsorship, membership, training and management committees. An experienced and accredited audio engineer, he produced Home Brew Radio (an All-Australian music show) for the CRN for over 10 years; and more recently, produced a radio series Exposing The War On Drugs, that received three nominations at the 2018 CBAA Awards. As a musician, he performs regularly around the Northern Rivers region and currently co-produces “The Golden Hour” on2NimFM.

Giordana Caputo (Trainer) is an experienced journalist and broadcaster with more than a decade of experience in all facets of the sector, from producing and presenting programs, to managing staff and facilitating training. Giordana is the CMTO National Training Manager and still volunteers at 4ZZZ in Brisbane and FBi in Sydney.

Chloe Collin's  (Coach) radio career began over 13 years ago at the BBC, where she cut her teeth producing high profile documentaries, radio programs, live events, music sessions, and multi-media content for Radio 1. She was a producer of Andrew Denton’s Breakfast Show on Triple M in Sydney, worked in San Francisco with KCBS’s radio news team, and covered the Wimbledon Tennis Championships with Radio Wimbledon.

Emma Couch

Emma Couch (Trainer) studied journalism before working at community stations Koori Radio and Radio Skid Row. She is currently the Members Services Officer with the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia having also worked as an English language teacher and on a news program with Sydney’s Community Television station TVS.

Ian Crouch (Trainer) has been involved in broadcasting for 20 years in both Community and Commercial Radio. He started reading news for 2CCR-FM at Baulkham Hills in Sydney in 1993 and served on the station’s Board of Management and as Station Manager until early 1996. Ian studied at AFTRS (The Australian Film Television and Radio School) and went on to hold a variety of roles at stations around New South Wales including i98FM, Wollongong, 2DU/ZOO-FM Dubbo, 2NM/Power-FM, 2NM and NEW-FM, Newcastle. Ian now manages around 25 Communications degree students from the University of Newcastle at 2NUR-FM.

Nancy Falcone (Coach) has extensive experience in the community-broadcasting sector including the Aboriginal and Ethnic/Multicultural sectors. Nancy's skills are in preparation and presentation of programs which includes program planning, voice production, interviewing skills, radio panel operations & confidence building. Nancy has visited many radio stations over the years and has a keen interest in helping train people to improve broadcast quality.


Nicola Joseph (Trainer) is a broadcaster and journalist with more than 25 years’ experience, including the ABC and SBS. Not only is she a trainer and curriculum-developer with national and international experience, but she is also CEO of the Community Media Training Organisation.


Lex Marinos (Trainer) is an actor, director, writer and teacher with a wealth of experience in the arts/entertainment industry. In more than three decades of involvement in the radio sector, he has worked as a producer and presenter on many stations, including triplejay and NewsRadio. Lex currently appears regularly on ABC Local Radio 702.

Alan Mitchell

Alan Mitchell (Trainer) has worked as a presenter, training coordinator, and technical director, with a number of stations, including 1WAY and Radio for the Print Handicapped. He currently works with 2EAR, Moruya.


Giladesi Namokoyi (Coach) has many years’ experience as a producer and presenter for the SBS Radio Sydney program, Alchemy. She is also an active contributor to the music community in her hip-hop group, KillaQueenz. Keep an ear out for her voice on many of the CMTO’s online E-learning resources!
Carol North Samardzic resized Carol North-Samardzic (Trainer) has over 40 years’ experience as an educator, working with people of various ags across a diverse range of industries, organisations and professions. She became involved with radio as an undergraduate and continues to have a passion for the medium

Kevin Klehr (Trainer) has worked across media, in radio, television and on-line, for both the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and voluntarily in community media. From research, production and editing roles with Radio National documentaries to independent TV productions, he brings much hands-on experience to his role as a trainer.

Amy Moon (Trainer) has a long-standing commitment to adult education and lifelong learning. With a background in arts and music management, Amy has also worked in a number of community media roles including Member & Stakeholder Services Manager with the CBAA and Grants Administrator at the Community Broadcasting Foundation.

Melvin Grew up in the Hunter Region of NSW and pursued a high school teaching career (both Government and Catholic) spanning more that 25 years in Science, Mathematics and Technology in South West Sydney schools.
He resigned from Catholic Teaching service to move to Tasmania in 2004. Met up with local Community Broadcaster in May 2004 and started volunteering in presenting and technical operation at that station.
He then joined the Management Committee in 2006 and was treasurer and President in later years. Technical Achievements during his time were the station's first ever outside broadcast and the conversion from a Telstra Audio link to their transmitter to an UHF STL Unit. Also commissioned our translator service service into the Kingborough Region on 98.5 MHz FM. Started doing presenter training during those years also.
In October 2005 became employed at 7RPH, where he still works as Assistant (Production/Training/Volunteer) Manager. Conducted various training courses at 7RPH over the years and looks forward to continuing that. 

He lives in the wilds of the Huon Valley in a minimalist existence and stays in Hobart during his (part time) working week.

Belinda Lopez new

Belinda Lopez (Trainer) has worked as an independent radio producer and writer/editor in Asia, Europe, Latin America and Australia. Locally, presenter and producer roles with 2SER and FBi Radio have included Executive Producer for storytelling program All The Best. She gained an advanced certificate in Indonesian language and has had experience as a guest lecturer for Indonesial storytellers in Jakarta, She has a BA in Communication, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism and completed her Master of Arts International relations at City University in London. She is currently undertaking her PhD in creative media, exploring storytelling and oral history.
