medialab 2018The CMTO are bringing Medialab back to the CBAA Conference 2019!

This year’s media lab will build on the partnerships CMTO has been fostering in the past 12 months to create new training programs and resources.

We’ve teamed up again with Technorama to expand on our Station Tech for the Non-Technical Pathways course, with a hands-on opportunity to trouble-shoot a problem in a broadcast chain.

Media Lab provides a unique setting where actual radio equipment will be set-up so participants can see the flashing lights, plug and unplug components and have a go at fixing something in a safe, supervised and supported environment.

We’re also bringing the fruits of our partnership with RPHA to conference, presenting a practical workshop on presenting radio reading programs plus some tips on how to make your station accessible for people with different abilities. CMTO assisted RPHA in the development of resources for their Regional Development Program in 2019, and these incredibly useful resources will be on show during this Medialab session.

With the sector’s increased focus on news production within stations, we’ll be working with The Wire to present an activity-based session that builds editorial skills for in-station journalists, this session is not to be missed by anyone wanting to get involved in news production.

Our session with The Wire last year was extremely popular and one participant commented ‘I can now confidently train other broadcasters to present a current affairs program”

The 2019 CBAA Conference will run from October 25 - 26. If you are registered to attend make sure to lock in your attendance for the CMTO’s Medialab sessions through the CBAA Conference App! Get in quick, places are limited!
