The CMTO in partnership with Radio Skid Row in Sydney is running a workshop for young African women. The course will cover radio presentation, panel operation, editing and online skills. Participants will receive a Certificate II in Creative Industries. The training will be presented by Gladys Namokoyi who started her own media career at Radio Skid Row when she was a teenager and has gone on to work as a producer and presenter at SBS. Radio Skid Row hopes that graduates of the course will stay on to produce and present radio programs or get involved with other station projects. Radio Skid Row has a long history of working with African communities but has always struggled to get young women involved.
