Founded in 1999, the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education offers Certificate II, III and IV, as well as Diploma level training, based on the Screen and Media training package

The Batchelor Institute was established by the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education Act as an educational institution for the tertiary education of the Indigenous people of Australia’ and for the provision of other educational  programs and courses, as well as facilities and resources for research and study.

A central task of the Institute is the provision of programs which engage students in the development of appropriate responses to issues of cultural survival, maintenance, renewal and transformation, within the context of the national and international social, political and economic order.
