Non-Executive Director, Community Media Training Organisation Community broadcasting is a vital part of the Australian media landscape. The 500+ radio services broadcasting across Australia to over 5 million people each week play an important role in providing a voice for communities not adequately serviced by other broadcasting sectors. These include First Nations, multicultural and other minority communities as well as independent local music and musicians. 

The Community Media Training Organisation (CMTO) is an industry Registered Training Organisation (RTO ID 91800), that delivers nationally recognised, pathways and accredited training to community broadcasters around Australia. 

The CMTO is a Not For Profit governed by a board of Non-Executive Directors. The majority of Directors are nominated by the Australian Community Broadcasting Sector’s Peak National Representative Organisations, with the remainder appointed by the CMTO as Independent Directors. 

The CMTO is seeking to recruit up to two (2) Independent Directors who will support the organisation to deliver on its mission, and by extension, strengthen the Australian Community Broadcasting Sector. 

We are seeking Directors with core governance skills and a track record in taking a values- driven approach to strategy, risk and/or business development. Experience in media, education or RTO management would also be highly regarded. 

Successful Directors will be expected to support organisational values and be committed to actively contributing to the board and committees.
