I have been in the Vocational Education and Training Sector for nearly 30 years. I started out delivering customer service training. After completing my Associate Diploma in Education and Training in 1998 I went on to work for the Victorian Council of the YMCA, launching their first traineeship program in Certificate II in Sport and Recreation of which I delivered and assessed some of the training.
Starting up DDK Consulting bigger and even better things happened in my VET journey. I was fortunate to spread my wings and work for several Registered Training Organisations over the years. I worked in a variety of roles. Those roles have included, Training Manager, Training Coordinator, Internal Auditor-Compliance and quality Management Consultant, Student management, Trainer/Assessor, YMCA National Traineeship Coordinator, YMCA National Training Manager, YMCA Jobskills Training Coordinator, Diamond Valley Learning Centre - ACFE (Adult Community Further Education) Coordinator. My role at DVLC changed to Compliance and Quality Management.
My expertise at the time of completing my Associate Diploma was in Radio Broadcasting. I joined the CBAA Training arm until it closed and then CMTO was launched a few years later. I submitted my expression of interest to work for CMTO when they launched and have been a casual trainer/assessor for them ever since. I have delivered and assessed Certificate II in Creative Industries, Certificate III in Broadcasting (Radio), Certificate III and IV in Screen and Media and CMTO Pathways programs. I have also had the pleasure in other project work with the CMTO such as internal auditing and validation, Mentor and Coach for the Take-it-on-Leadership programs, validation and proof-reading documents.
