Are you a First Nations person who is ready to take the next step in your media leadership career?

Apply now for our 8-week leadership mentoring program starting in August.

The CMTO developed the First Nations TAKE IT ON Leadership Mentoring program in collaboration with First Nations Media Australia (FNMA) to support emerging leaders in Indigenous media.

We welcome participants from media organisations all over the country. Participants will be paired with experienced First Nations media industry mentors to guide them through the program and provide valuable mentoring.

Participation in the 8-week mentoring program will involve:

  • 1 hour mentor meeting each week (online or in person)
  • Yarn Circle/Project Catchups fortnightly on Tuesday afternoons
  • Completing activities and tasks set via the online learning hub (MOODLE)

Want to learn more before applying? Join us on Tuesday 23rd July 5PM AEST for an online information session to ask questions and hear directly from project coordinators and previous participants.

Here’s what some of our previous participants had to say about the program:

“I guess the highlight to that was getting to know Karina and Boe (Mentors) and I guess having an opportunity to dream big in terms of what I wanted to produce— There’s just so much to talk about and the best part about that is I made a plan not only for this project but future projects and what I wanted to develop and the stories, personal ones as well as family & mob & community” - Shene Clements FNTIO 2021 Mentee

“This program is a great way to strengthen our connections with other First Nations people and learn from each other. The team who’ve organised the program have been awesome in making sure all participants are welcomed and supported, I’m very excited to see the outcomes of this year’s program and the journey ahead” - Glenys Opum, Noongar Radio FNTIO 2022 Mentor

Apply ASAP for this opportunity. Applications close COB 26 July 2024.
