E-learning is a growing industry and the CMTO is working hard to be at the forefront of course development. According to CMTO CEO, Nicola Joseph, online or e-learning is sure to be popular amongst media-savvy broadcasters, “there is no doubt that our sector is well-suited to e-learning as many of our broadcasters are comfortable working with computers.”
CMTO students will be able to complete some units of learning online while also attending face to face classes at stations to gain qualifications.
“We will never abandon face-to-face classes, they are too important in building collaborative teams within stations and across the sector but e-learning is flexible in so far as anyone can do it at anytime either at their station or at home. We are conscious about keeping our first courses simple and easy to access. They will not be full of large download files- the best e-learning is simple and fun!”
The first e-learning courses will come online in June- they will cover OH&S in your station and Media Industry and Law. Stay tuned for more information soon!
