The 20th Remote Indigenous Media Festival is set to be hosted by First Nations Media Australia (FNMA) on Thursday Island from 22nd – 27th of September. Joining the line-up of industry experts are CMTO Trainers, Mikaela Ford, Tony Collins and Luke Pearson. The trio will be delivering exciting content in the realm of podcasting and news production.
The CMTO is proud to partner with First Nations Media Australia and is looking forward to experience this fantastic weeklong event.
Introduction to Podcasting with Tony Collins
This workshop will guide participants through the production of a creative piece of audio that can be shared online as a podcast. During the workshop participants will explore some of the podcasts being produced by the First Nations media sector and discuss what makes good podcast content. Participants will record, edit and publish a short audio piece so they can have a hands-on experience of producing a podcast from start to finish.
News Production with Luke Pearson
This workshop will guide participants through the production of news content for broadcast and online platforms. During the workshop participants will explore the news content being made by First Nations media around Australia and discuss editorial policies and journalism standards and ethics. Participants will create news content in a variety of formats including audio, video and online. Participants will look at publishing platforms and how to share their news and current affairs content using indigiTUBE and social media.
