Technorama Tuesdays: Start the Year Safely
with Josh Pearson
Tuesday, January 29, 2019, 6:30 pm
Two very important things. That’s what everyone in community radio – you, your peers, your staff, your management, your fellow volunteers, everyone – needs to know about Workplace Health and Safety in Australia. Two things. The first thing is that our law is very specific, and is designed to create a risk-free environment. Under our laws you can’t walk away from WHS, you can’t pass the risk acceptance to someone else, you can’t say you didn’t know, and you probably don’t know enough yet to stay out of trouble. The second thing is that Technorama can help. We have experts in our midst, and risk management is one of the things that technologists do. In this webinar, we’ll introduce you to what you need to know about the detail, and how to think and be safe in community radio.
In this webinar, you’ll learn:
• the basic guiding principles of Workplace Health and Safety
• tips about how to get people in your station thinking safety
• what documentation you should assemble to help you keep the station safe
• where to go for further learning and resources
Who’s this webinar for?
Managers, volunteers, board members… anyone. The topic is universal.
Presented by Technorama Secretary, Josh Pearson
