If you haven’t heard of Videolicious, we are about to blow your mind.

Videolicious is a brand new free app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch that lets you make and edit videos. It’s got a really quick and user-friendly interface, meaning you don’t need to be a professional videographer to use it. It also has a web-based dashboard that allows you to keep track of your projects in one place.

So how do I make a video using videolicious?

After you have downloaded the app, signed up online and chosen your story you’re ready to go!

Lets say for tutorial purposes, you’ve spoken about the Shoalhaven River Festival on the radio – a smoke and alcohol free festival. You interviewed the organiser on air and want to direct your audience to a video you took at the event online.

We recommend having the app open for steps 4-6 so you can see what we’re talking about.

1. Choose 3 people to interview. Ask them questions about the event – hopefully you’ll get to talk to the organiser of the event, a performer and someone who lives in the area and is attending. Record each answer as a different byte.

2. Get some atmosphere shots – people waiting to see a performance, bands/acts setting up, signs around.

3. Go into your album of videos on your device and decide which videos you want to use and in which order – focus on ones with people talking first because we will overlay supporting shots after.

4. Open the Videolicious app and create a new project. In step 1 select your supporting (atmosphere) shots.

5. Step 2 will ask you to import your sound bytes in the order you want them to play

6. Go through your sound bytes and select supporting shots exactly when you want them to play by tapping on them in the bottom right hand corner.

It’s that easy!
