The CMTO is looking to expand our training pool in 2023. We’re especially interested in those with Station Management, Leadership or Enterprise skills, including event management, project management and volunteer management, fundraising, grant writing, and sponsorship.
The CMTO is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering both accredited and non-accredited training across Australia to our key stakeholders in the community broadcasting sector.
Our training opportunities are great for freelancers, retirees or those generally looking to expand their work in the media education sector.

Pathways Trainer & Mentor Call-Out

The CMTO is seeking trainers and mentors for Leadership and Enterprise pathways programs throughout 2023 and 2024 - submit an EOI now.
Pathways trainers and mentors support participants with workshops and mentoring programs in a range of Leadership and Enterprise topics. This could be delivering a one-day face-to-face workshop at a station, online training, or weekly online mentoring meetups through our online THINK BIG fundraising or TAKE IT ON leadership programs.
These courses include training on topics such as sponsorship and fundraising, grant writing, volunteer management, project planning and more - access the full list of courses on our website.
We are seeking trainers and mentors who have:
- Industry experience - media, arts, government, or community organisations
- Flexibility and time management skills
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Training experience is preferred but is not essential
- Trainer and Mentor onboarding and support will be provided
This is a paid position - hours and rates vary depending on program role.
Trainers and mentors are employed on a casual basis and due to the nature of the community broadcasting sector, some after hours and weekend work may be required.

Accredited Trainer Call-Out

Trainers are employed on a casual basis and due to the nature of the community broadcasting sector, some after hours and weekend work may be required.
We are seeking trainers who:
- Have experience in providing quality adult learning and assessment within the Australian VET system
- Hold a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) and/or other adult learning or teaching qualifications - you can also begin training with us while completing your TAE
- Have leadership and management experience
- Industry experience - media, arts, government, or community organisations
- Understanding of the community broadcasting sector
- Possess high levels of written and verbal communication, including equivalent presentation and facilitation skills
- Have the ability to work with culturally diverse groups and support individuals to achieve their training objectives
